SURREAL PERSPECTIVES - SOLO | August 2024 ART IN SPORT | December 2024 - April 2025
The past two years have been a whirlwind. In May of 2023 I pursued an incredible image with global freeskiing icon Tom Wallisch, a project in which I dedicated over 140 hours of work to accomplish. In January 2024, the final imagery concept came to mind for another powerful and surreal image, an opportunity of a lifetime. Focusing my attention towards pursuing the last Total Solar Eclipse in America until 2044, I dedicated over 250 hours to pursue the capture of one photograph, creating a western outlaw chase scene during complete darkness that occurred mid-day on April 8th 2024 during Totality when the Moon passed between the Sun and the Earth, blocking all light.
Since the completion of that project in April 2024 the workload only increased, directing most of my time and energy towards a few artwork exhibitions, in particular, "Surreal Perspectives" (my first solo month-long art exhibition), and "Art In Sport" a six-month exhibit at the Steamboat Art Museum featuring artists, photographers, and sculptors from around the world.
To top things off, most of my remaining time has been directed towards producing and editing two behind-the-scenes documentaries on the Grizzly Column Project with Tom Wallisch, and Eclipse Outlaw Chase. Both documentaries in total required over 500 hours of editing. Both films have been showcased at incredible events in Utah and Colorado with amazing feedback, and I cannot wait to share them with you at future events before they are released.
With that said, I've finally made it through the tunnel of the most intense period of my life. I've now had the time to reflect on some of those events, and I wanted to share a few recap highlights from both artwork exhibitions.
Enjoy the recap videos below for an in-depth look at my photography background, along with an artist panel interview showcasing how I created "Grizzly Column" with athlete Tom Wallisch.
